Love this book so much that I started gifting them to new employees when they start. I am in event and catering industry and this book gives GREAT advice and breaks it down into easy bullet points and also gives great references.
The author has some outdated notions when it comes to sales techniques. In particular, she only discusses extroverts and seems to go out of her way to focus on exteaverts and their ability to sell. If you're going to market a book to an entire industry of professionals, take time to include a variety of personality types or change the title of the book so it reflects your focus on extroverts.
I've been in the event industry for 35 years, 9K events later I purchased Booked It! for my sales staff as Meryl Snow is an icon in our industry. I thought I knew all there is about closing the deal, and more... I was wrong, Meryl was right! Recommend this great book to anyone who wants some sound advice from a proven veteran. All my sales team members said the same thing "Wow, there's some really great tips in here!"
