I loved the concepts and my kids had a really fun time going through the activity book. Each day they were excited about "Money Class." However, this kit is really only suited for one child. It comes with only one workbook, (which I had to make copies of for my two kids), ONE set of money envelopes and ONE Chore Chart. I do have to say the chore chart was made from a really sturdy magnetic white board, unlike cardboard whiteboards I have seen used for chore charts. The magnets that come with it are great as well, but it can really only be used by one child at a time. The Parent handbook that was included in the kit was very light on info, however the kit comes with a free e-book copy of the book Smart Money Smart Kids which is full of great information.
My daughter loves the kit. She is 11 years old and was so excited when she got to customize her commission chart. We have had the kit for over a month and she has managed to save $70. It is teaching her the value of hard work, saving with a goal in mind, and the joy of giving. She gladly puts 10% of her earnings in the give envelope for church each week and on several occasions she has even put an extra $5 or $10 in there to donate to childhood cancer research. After reading the activity book, she started a dog walking business all on her own. I love seeing her take pride in a job well done. She thinks twice about spending her money on wants and has become much more responsible in general. I highly recommend this product.
I did the Real Finacial Peace last summer and am clearing my life of debt, so when I saw these I instantly thought of my grandchildren, who know nothing of saving, to teach them the values that Dave taught me through this University. It's an amazing wealth of information!
I purchase this for my 4 & 6 year old kids. BEST. IDEA. EVER.We pay our "commissions" on a daily basis. I went from kids whining about simple chores to waking up in the morning and finding my 6 year old dusting the blinds to earn a $0.15 commission.Love it!
I bought this after seeing a friend had the system. It comes with little closable envelopes for saving and spending. My daughter loves it and I like the system for teaching her about money. The book feels more like a pamphlet to me an the work book is too old for my 5 year old, but I would buy it again. Overall, worth the money and a good way to teach kids about money.
We really like this set! The chores are magnetic and can be changed around periodically. I bought a kit for each child so there wouldn’t be fighting over the contents. They’ve both really enjoyed the activity book and the launch pad challenges. I later noticed that I could have purchased one kit but two dry erase chore boards on the dave Ramsey site, but I am glad both kids have the activity packets each. Either way would have worked though.
Love this idea and the concept. They say teach them while they are young. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my three-year-old niece. She is now excited to complete her chores and excited to determine which money savings bag she wants to put her money in. I highly recommend this product .
I use this with my 4.5 year old and it's great at helping her to understand the concepts of work, saving, spending, and giving. Love that. My 2.5 year old now asks to "make commission", which is awesome.
